It is an artificial muscle made by processing shape memory alloy (SMA) thinner than human hair into coil threads and weaving them like fabric. When electric current flows, it contracts like a muscle as it returns to its original shape, and in actuator-level tests it supported up to 1,500 times its own weight.
Wearable robots differ in structure and actuation from product to product. The SARTEXO suit is driven by Fabric Muscle, a fabric that contracts on its own. With no motors or gearboxes there is no drive noise, and with no frame or hinge the structure does not constrain body movement. Bionic Suit Waist weighs 1.3 kg including battery and controller, and Full — the world's first clothing-type suit to assist waist, shoulder, and elbow simultaneously — is under 2 kg.
The drive unit and garment are separable. Detach the drive unit with the zipper, and the garment section can go in a regular wash. Detailed care instructions come with the product.
For Bionic Suit Waist, the swappable rechargeable battery (200 g) supports 300+ assist repetitions per charge. The definition of one repetition and the test conditions are provided in consultation. Use it in the morning, swap in a charged battery for the afternoon, and charge the used one separately.
Products are released in phases by application area. We are currently conducting field validation starting with logistics and industrial sites, and we welcome advance inquiries from companies and institutions considering adoption. Delivery timelines are provided individually upon inquiry.
Please select 'Technology Partnership' on the Support > Contact page. We are open to joint research, technology licensing, and actuator supply arrangements.
We run demos for organizations and companies. Please contact us with the 'Demo/Pilot Request' inquiry type.
